Be a Pack Leader – in Local Searches Do you want to be the leader of the pack? And we are not talking about the song by the  Shangra-La’s , instead, we’re talking about showing up when a prospective customer is looking for your business. You can’t invite them to your party if you don’t show up in local search! Google recently did a  study  and found that 54% of consumers searching on their smartphones were looking for business hours, 53% wanted directions and 50% were looking for a specific business near them. All of this lives on your business’ Google My Business page. So, it is imperative to manage your Google Map listing on a consistent basis. PJ @ University of North Texas Pink Jacket  was invited to speak to students at the  University of North Texas . Luckily, we have two alumni on staff! Both Ryan Wilson and I graduated from UNT out of the (brand new, at the time)  Digital Retailing  department. We went to go speak to students in a Consumer Psychology course about branding – something Pink Jacket knows VERY well. One of the key engagements we conducted with the students was a Q+A session. These students had some thought-provoking questions, considering they are coming from a younger generation, with an outsider’s perspective of the Marketing universe. Let’s peek at four of the more interesting questions that were brought up and some of our responses. What does a typical day look like at Pink Jacket? Everything and anything! No, truly. I think one thing that is interesting to note is that life at an agency is always changing day-to-day. It depends on what time of year, what time of the month, new clients onboarding, etc.

In designing anything, color is often a first and important consideration. Frequently, color goes unnoticed because the color selection has been treated so nicely by a professional, that you don’t even consciously see it. But how many times have you walked into a certain bar, restaurant or you buy a certain product because you like the way it makes you “ feel ?” It speaks to you. On the flip side, how many times have you passed over a shop or a website, because it lacked flair? In branding, for example, some clients think that choosing their favorite color is a good way to go. Reigning the power of color deserves further examination than just that. Once your product’s audience and intentions are well-defined, you can then leverage this information to make an educated choice. For example, you
